The short version

I’m a one-man handyman business in Philadelphia. When you use the “Send a photo, get a price” form, I ask for your name, your phone number, your neighborhood, what needs fixing, and — if you want to send one — a photo of the job. I use that to give you a price and to do the work.

I don’t sell it. I don’t rent it. I don’t hand it to advertisers.

Two things I want you to know up front, because most websites bury them:

• Your request stays on this website. It is not emailed anywhere, it is not forwarded to a messaging app, and it is not passed to any other company. I open it in the site’s own admin area — that is the only copy there is.
• Photos are deleted automatically 180 days after your request comes in. Sooner, if you ask.

Who you’re dealing with

This website is run by TONYFIX INC, doing business as TonyFix — a handyman business based in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, USA. In this policy, “I” and “me” mean that business.

What I collect

What you type into the quote form. Nothing here is collected secretly — you type it and press the button:

• your name;
• your phone number;
• your neighborhood;
• the type of job you picked from the list;
• your description of the job;
• a photo of the job — optional. These are usually pictures taken inside your home. I treat them as the most sensitive thing on this site, because they are.

What happens in the background when you send the form. To stop spam robots from flooding the form, the site counts how many requests have come from one internet connection in the past hour. It does that without keeping your IP address: the address is scrambled into an unreadable code the moment it arrives, the counter resets after an hour, and the code is thrown away with it. It is never attached to your request and I never see it.

What the server records on its own. My hosting company keeps standard web-server logs as part of running any website — IP address, browser type, which pages were requested and when. That’s ordinary server housekeeping, it isn’t a profile of you, and I don’t use it for marketing. Those logs are kept on the host’s own schedule and then deleted.

What I never ask for. I do not want and will never ask for your Social Security number, your date of birth, your bank or credit card details, or a copy of your ID. If any page claiming to be mine asks you for those, it isn’t mine — stop, and call me at (267) 679-8533.

Why I collect it

• To write you an honest quote for the job you described.
• To call or text you back about it.
• To find the address and show up.
• To keep a record of what work was done, for warranty questions and for taxes.

That’s the whole list. No advertising profiles. I don’t sell leads to other contractors.

Calls and texts

When you send the form, you’re asking me to get back to you — so I’ll call or text the number you gave me about your job. Your carrier’s normal message and data rates apply. I don’t run marketing text blasts, and I won’t add you to any list. Tell me to stop contacting you and I’ll stop.

Mobile phone numbers collected for SMS purposes will not be shared with or sold to third parties or affiliates for marketing purposes.

When you tick the text-message box on the quote form, you are agreeing to receive text messages from TONYFIX INC about your service request. Those texts are sent from our office line, (267) 609-9970. Message frequency varies. Message and data rates may apply. Reply STOP at any time to opt out, or HELP for help. Saying no to texts does not cost you the job — call (267) 679-8533 and you get the same free quote.

Who else sees your request

This is the part most websites keep vague, so here it is straight. Your request goes to exactly one place.

This website’s own database. Everything you sent — your name, your phone number, your neighborhood, the job type, your description and your photo — is saved on the website, which is hosted on servers in the United States. In the site’s admin area, only I can open saved requests.

There is no second place. Your request is not emailed to me or to anyone else. It is not forwarded to Telegram, WhatsApp, or any other messaging service. It is not sent to a lead marketplace, an advertising network, or another contractor. Your phone number does not leave this website.

(The quote form’s contents are never sent to Google. Google Analytics only counts that a form was sent — see “Cookies and tracking”.)

Nobody else. I don’t sell, rent, trade, or share your information with anyone else for money or for marketing. The only exceptions are the ordinary ones: if the law requires it (a court order, a subpoena, a government request I’m legally obliged to answer), or if I genuinely need it to defend against a legal or insurance claim about a job. If I ever hand my business over to someone else, your information would go with the customer records — and this policy would go with it too.

How long I keep things

• Photos of your home: 180 days. The website deletes the photo automatically 180 days after your request arrives — along with the rest of that request. It happens on a schedule, not because someone remembered. Most jobs are finished within a few weeks, so the photo is normally gone long after the work is done and long before anyone would have a reason to want it. If you want it gone sooner, ask and I’ll delete it.
• The written part of the request (name, phone, neighborhood, job description): kept on the website for the same 180 days. If I’ve done work for you, I keep my own separate business records — invoice, what was fixed, when — for 3 years, because I need those for warranty questions and taxes.
• Server logs: kept by the hosting company for a short period on their own schedule, then deleted.
• The spam counter: the scrambled code described above disappears within an hour.

Your choices — how to see your information or have it deleted

Call or text (267) 679-8533. Tell me the phone number you used on the form and roughly when you sent it, so I can find the right request.

You can ask me to:

• send you a copy of everything I hold about you;
• correct anything that’s wrong;
• delete it — the request, the photo, all of it.

I’ll do it within 30 days, usually within the same week, and it’s free. One honest limit: if I’ve already invoiced you, I may have to keep the bare invoice record for tax purposes.

Wherever you live: you don’t have to be a California or Pennsylvania resident to make these requests. I handle them the same way for everyone. I won’t charge you more, refuse work, or treat you differently for asking.

Cookies and tracking

This site runs on WordPress. It also uses Google Analytics and Google Ads conversion measurement, so I can see which pages people read and whether an ad led to a call or a quote request.

• What Google gets: the page you’re on, your approximate location (city level), your device and browser type, how you got here (for example, a Google search or an ad), and whether you tapped the phone number or sent the quote form. Google sets its own cookies in your browser to do this.
• What Google does not get: anything you type into the quote form. Your name, phone number, neighborhood, job description and photo never go to Google — they stay on this website, as described above. Only the fact that a form was sent is counted.
• What’s switched off: I’ve turned off Google’s ad personalization and “Google signals” for this site. Visits here are not used to build an advertising profile about you or to follow you around the internet with my ads. There is no Facebook Pixel and no other ad network. Apart from Google as described here, no third party collects information about your activity through this site.
• If you come from one of my Google ads: the call buttons on this site show a different number — my answering line, (267) 609-9970 — so a call that starts from an ad goes to the same line as a call made straight from the ad. So that you keep seeing that number if you come back, your browser remembers for 30 days that you arrived from an ad. That note stays on your device; nothing about it is sent to me or to Google. Everywhere else — for visitors who didn’t come from an ad, on this page, on the SMS terms and in my Google profile — the number stays (267) 679-8533.
• Opting out: if your browser sends a Global Privacy Control signal, the Google scripts don’t load at all and the site doesn’t remember ad visits. You can also use Google’s opt-out add-on (tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout) or any content blocker — the site and the quote form work the same either way. Google explains its own use of this data at policies.google.com/technologies/partner-sites.
• WordPress itself sets a small number of technical cookies, mainly for people who log in to the site’s admin area. Reading the pages and sending the quote form doesn’t require you to accept anything.
• The “Ask Tony” box on the home page runs entirely inside your own browser. It matches a few keywords against a short price list built into the page — it is not a chatbot, it doesn’t learn, and what you type in it is never sent to me, never sent to anyone else, and never stored.

Do Not Track signals

Your browser may let you send a “Do Not Track” signal. There is still no agreed industry standard for it, so the site doesn’t change anything when it receives one. It does honor Global Privacy Control: when your browser sends that signal, the Google Analytics and Google Ads scripts are not loaded, and the site doesn’t remember that you came from an ad.

Children

This site is for homeowners and renters hiring a handyman. It isn’t directed at children under 13, and I don’t knowingly collect information from them. If you believe a child sent me something through this site, call (267) 679-8533 and I’ll delete it.

Security — what I do, and what I won’t promise

I’m not going to tell you this website is unbreakable. Nobody honest says that about any website. Here is what is actually in place:

• The site is served over HTTPS, so what you send from the form is encrypted on its way to the server.
• Your photo is not put in the site’s public picture gallery. It is saved under a randomly generated name in a separate folder, and the site only hands it out to someone signed in as the administrator — that’s me.
• Access to the saved requests in the site’s admin area is limited to me.
• Software on the site is kept updated.

If something goes wrong anyway and your information is caught up in it, I’ll tell you, and I’ll tell you what I know.

This site links out to my Facebook page, my Instagram, and my Google review page. Once you click through, you’re on their websites and their privacy policies apply, not this one.

Changes to this policy

If I change this policy, I’ll update the “Last updated” date at the top of this page. If a change materially affects information I’ve already collected from you, I’ll post a notice on the home page for at least 30 days so you actually see it. Want an earlier version? Ask me and I’ll send it.
